I never was a huge fan of the XDS especially in 45. It hurt my hand and kicked like a mule compared to the M&P Shield 45. With that said, the first handgun I ever purchased was a 4" service model XD9, and I EDC'd a XD Mod 2 in 9mm for some time. No complaints about either. I wonder if Springfield is going to make an "XL" version of the Hellcat, something with an extra 0.6" or so of barrel and a longer grip that holds another 3 rounds in the magazine. SIG and Glock have both gone down that path.
